In response to the recent economic recession The Buffalo Companion Animal Network has opened
a Pet Food Pantry to help those having trouble feeding their pets. Faith United Presbyterian Church
has been a critical ally in their goal to help keep beloved pets in the homes of those who are struggling during these difficult times.
On Sunday, May 20th, there will be a service at 10:30 a.m. to bless the animals. All are invited to bring their precious pets or a picture of them for the Blessing of the Animals.
After several years running the Pet Food Pantry it became evident that while providing pet food was a big help it was not enough. “Many people were also having trouble paying for routine vaccinations” said Kathy Hogan, Pet Food Pantry Coordinator. In response to this growing need, Buffalo C.A.N., in cooperation with Dr. James Albert of City Creatures Animal Hospital, will offer a low cost vaccine clinic for dogs and cats in the community.
The clinic will take place from 11:30 – 1:30 in the church hall. Proof of low income and spay/neuter certificate required. Dogs must be on a leash and cats in a carrier. The following vaccines will be administered by Dr. Albert for $8 each or $20 for all three:
Rabies, DHPP (distemper/hepatitis/parainfluenza/parvo) and kennel cough.
Proceeds will benefit Buffalo CAN’s Pet Food Pantry.
